Rookyard Cottage Self Catering

Rookyard Cottage is an eco-friendly, single storey self-catering cottage. It has a timber frame with recycled newspaper insulation, rainwater harvesting and solar-heated water. Guests may use the owner's private indoor heated swimming pool. It is called Rookyard Cottage because of the many rooks that are frequent visitors to the grounds of Valley Farm.

Accommodation

The cottage has two bedrooms, a king size double and a twin, each with an en suite bathroom. One bathroom is equipped for use by disabled guests with a large walk-in shower and grab rails. The sitting/dining room has a vaulted timber ceiling and a modern well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. A log burning stove is backed up by full oil-fired central heating. There is a Freesat TV with DVD together with a radio/ipod dock and player. Free Wi-Fi is available.

This cottage is furnished and decorated to a high standard in a modern style. There is easy level access for wheelchair users. If booking for disabled guests, please check facilities against needs.

Outside

The cottage is set in the spacious grounds of Valley Farm. Guests have a south facing terrace with table, chairs and a barbecue and there is a one acre field suitable for ball games, kite flying and fun, far away from the road. A country footpath leads across the fields to the small market town of Halesworth. The owner's private indoor heated swimming pool is available to guests by individual arrangement (at a small extra charge, depending on season). There is parking for two cars.
